Mira Moon, a luxury hotel in Central and just 5 minutes from Wan Chai Station, opened on November 1st in Hong Kong. The address is 388 Jaffe Road, Wan Chai.

Miramar Group, a member of the Henderson Land Group, designed the hotel to appeal to the sophisticated sense of business travelers and tourists. The motif incorporates elements of Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival tales, with patterns symbolic of the festival such as the Moon Goddess and the Jade Rabbit.

The hotel has a total of 91 guestrooms designed by Dutch product and interior designer Marcel Wanders, who teamed up with Yoo, a design company created by world-renowned real estate developer John Hitchcox and global designer Philippe Starck. The hotel's style has a modern feel, with clean white as the base color coupled with touches of deep red, resulting in a refined scheme with a playful side to it.

The names given for the room types share a moon theme: 22 Half Moon rooms (21 square meters), 44 New Moon rooms (37-38 square meters), 23 Full Moon rooms (36 square meters),and the one and only 116-square-meter Moonshine Suite. Almost all guestrooms are equipped with a separate bathtub in addition to the rain shower. The hotel also offers complimentary Wi-Fi, minibar, Nespresso coffee and gourmet tea cakes, as well as complimentary use of its 24-hour gym to all guests.

The Hotel Mira aspires to be the best in Hong Kong. After examining the competition, the hotel decided to use tablet computers for processing check-in and even offers guests iPad minisin all rooms so they can use both in-doors and in the city. The hotel also shows its green side by placing plants in guestrooms. In addition, the management aspires to a high level of customer service through one-on-one interaction between its staff and guests. Bellboys, front desk clerks, concierges and other hotel staff do not wear a name pin, but all of them are equally well-informed and able to respond to guests' inquiries with the answers they need. The hotel also helps guests fit in better with the local Hong Kong scene by maintaining a stock of Chinese dresses and other outfits by local designers that guests may purchase.

Each guestroom is furnished with a mini Grey Goose Cocktail Chest and a recipe for guests to mix an original Mira Moon cocktail in the comfort of their accommodations. While other hotels are transitioning to providing beer and other beverages free of charge, Mira Moon wanted to come up with a more creative service.

Guests can also take in a meal at a restaurant with outdoor seating or sip drinks at a bar, with Spanish-Chinese fusion tapas available for their dining pleasure.

An overnight stay starts at HK$2,800 for a Half Moon room.
